Together with my co-host Tim, we had the privilege of interviewing William Philip on our recent Owl and Badger podcast. William is minister of The Tron Church in Glasgow, a member of HART (Health Advisory & Recovery Team) and formerly a doctor specialising in cardiology.
We talked about a range of issues including the new religion of ‘climate change’ and how it is infiltrating the church with its anti-human agenda. We considered the challenges that the ‘covid era’ brought, and how much of the church failed to speak courageously into the situation against the narrative of fear, and particularly fear of death. We spoke about the recent unrest in our nation and the increasing gulf between the ordinary citizen and the political and media class, and how divisive that is becoming.
Through all of these issues we talked about the imperative for Christians to be courageous and confident in their faith and the gospel, standing firm on the truth of the Bible, and trusting God in all areas of life. Opposition, and even persecution, is to be expected, but we are called to take up our cross and follow Christ on the narrow path which is never the easy way, and it will involve battling against the flow of the world. The Bible warns us of this, and God promises to give us all of the spiritual weapons we will need.
We finished with mention of William’s new book on the psalms, ‘Heart Songs for Every Saint’, which I can highly recommend. Do get yourself a copy, and do have a listen to this podcast episode which is full of wisdom, challenge and truth!
